People don’t really see a colour when they are dazzled. Our vision is sometimes divided into two parts a lightness channel and a colour channel. After the dazzle, the after image is usually coloured, if the dazzling light was green then the after image is usually red and the other way round. There is a weaker link between blue and yellow. Dazzling white light often produces a purple after image, this is white contains all the colours and purple is really produce by our eyes not because there is a colour purple.
