To continue in my PhD, I had to write a review paper of an area of research. This mean reading ~100 research articles and figuring out how they all fit together to make one story (and how to explain it when they didn’t). Imagine instead of writing a summary of one story you had read, you had to write a summary of 100 stories! And it has to make sense. That was quite challenging, and it took about a year from start to finish, but I came out the other end a much more knowledgable scientist!
