If you have inherited colour blindness then you will either see reds as dark browns or struggle to tell the difference between reds and greens. An age related colour vision defect makes blues look darker.

The colour coding in electrical plugs was designed to deal with colour vision defects. Years ago it was normal to fit a plug to a new TV or washing machine, so the colours were chosen to reduce the risk of accident. The colours are blue is neutral, brown is live, and the green/yellow striped one is earth. No matter what colour vision defect you have the stripy one is earth, the lighter one is neutral and the darker one is live.
