• Question: do you think gaming computers are cool? and do you think they are better than normall computers? do you think i should buy one? could you recomend one that i should buy?

      I think they are cool 🙂
      What is interesting is that in my work, I get to use what are basically REALLY powerful graphics cards that cost several thousand pounds – not to play games, but because they’re really quick at doing sums quickly.

      This is why you need powerful graphics cards to play 3D games – there is lots and lots of maths involved in games programming, and so people had to come up with some hardware to do the job quickly. And now as scientists we get to use the technology for a different purpose!

      Yep, like Andrew, I use gaming-capable computers for my research because the image quality of monitors and the graphics capabilities of the computers are better than normal computers!

      Yes! I think they are cool because my teenage brother is always playing on his and it stops him from annoying me instead!! 🙂
