• Question: Why is it babies don't produce tears?

      I found a study from 1964 indicating that newborns DO produce tears, but it seems that they might not produce as many tears as adults. It is also the case that older infants produce tears more when they are in pain then when they are crying more typically (because of hunger for instance)!
