      Hi Shamilah!
Great question! A dream can be described as a series of images and emotions that occur mainly during the REM (rapid eye movement) stage of sleep. During this time our brains are highly active. There are lots of theories as to why we dream but we still don’t know for sure. We might dream to help us to form long term memories and help us to get rid of extra sensory information. It may simply be a way for our unconscious mind to process information that we’ve obtained during the day or to deal with things that might be troubling us. Dreams may be a combination of all of these things or something else entirely! We don’t know for sure but lots of people research dreams. 🙂
