      Hi there!
Damaged blood vessels can play a part in causing blindness because if blood vessels aren’t supplying the specialised cells of the retina with oxygen and nutrients, then the cells will die off and vision will be affected. Early repair of damaged blood vessels may help to stop or reduce vision loss but they might not be much help for people who have been blind since birth. There’s still a lot of research being done in this area though. I hope this helps to answer your question. 🙂
